New Year..New Challenge – Midweek Check Up…….

Well, I posted this a few days ago and thought it was about time I checked up to see how you are getting on?  So, how are you getting on?  Whether you are doing this challenge, or have set yourself other goals for 2017, how are you doing?  Well I hope.

If you have read any of my posts before where I set fitness challenges you will see that I stick to 30 min of exercise and there is a very good reason for this.  I will explain some of these reasons as we go through but I will give you the first reason today.

Reason #1 – It has been scientifically proven that those individuals who train for 30 min are less likely to eat post exercise than those who train for 60 min.  Despite 60 min of exercise potentially burning more energy (calories) than 30 min, this could be reversed by eating after training.  Therefore, the calorific intake for those who train for 60 min will surpass that of those who only train for 30 min.  Less calorie intake + 30 min exercise = win, win in my book!

Have a fit and healthy day.

Rob 🙂

  1. There’s a trick to that though. If I eat immediately after that hour or two of exercise (within 10-20 minutes), I’ll eat less. If I wait for an hour I’ll eat almost twice as much because I’m so hungry.

    1. Agreed. The point here is more on the psychological aspect. When people work out for 60 min plus, they think that they have to eat. Not true. There are times when nutrition will be of benefit, but not all 60 min workouts require post nutrition.
