Outlaw Half – Holkham Hall

Well, I can’t believe that this weekend is finally here!

I entered this race at the beginning of the year with one plan in mind – Finish.  After over 2 years away with injuries, I wanted to get back into Triathlon and enter something that I love – Middle Distance.  This is the first time that Outlaw has taken place at Holkam Hall and I am really looking forward to it.

Has the training gone well – yes and no.  I have remained injury free, so that is a huge YES.  No, because, I could have been a little more focused.  But I have to be realistic.  The goal here is not to break any records, but to enjoy the event – something that I feel is too often missed.  I have no doubt that I will at some point get caught up in the moment and go too hard and potentially pay the price, but if I can recognise that I am there, then I can stop it.  I just want to finish – injury free.

So to all those who are racing this weekend, or racing in the futrue, I wish you all the best and hope that you achieve your goals – whatever they may be.  Remember your race plan and stick to it.  It is your race, not anyone elses.  Remember to enjoy the moment and after all – it’s only a race!

Stay fit, stay healthy and achieve the unthinkable 🙂
